Artist/Company History
The Acme Corporation is a Baltimore-based theatre company that brings the professional, educational, and DIY communities together. We make new plays and re-imagined classics. We believe that the theatre is a place for presence and dynamic representation. We endeavor to make experiences that cannot be replicated on a screen.

Lola B. Pierson was born and raised in Baltimore City and is a playwright, writer, and director. A graduate of Baltimore School for the Arts, Bard College, and Towson University, she is passionate about the intersections of language, time, presence, and philosophy. She writes new work and deconstructs classics. A highly collaborative artist, she is the co-founding artistic director of The Acme Corporation and the creator of Baltimore's Ten Minute Play Festival.

About the Piece
A new opera. Text and direction by Lola B. Pierson. Score by Horse Lords (Andrew Bernstein, Max Eilbacher, Owen Gardner, and Sam Haberman). The opera is constructed in front of the audience as it's being performed where language, visual elements, and sound operate interchangeably; speech is visualized and stage action is sonified, data is interpreted and misinterpreted, communication is frustrated yet attempted again. The work questions what we exchange in order to connect with other humans. All seating is general admission. Please pay what you wish/can afford. If you have accessibility requirements/concerns/questions please email us. Runtime approximately 50 minutes.
